Long Rock
This is the Long Rock, a chaise longue with the added feature of a curved base, allowing a rocking motion.
I initiated this project as a means to explore how a rocking motion could be incorporated into a chaise longue. Whilst this design is merely a concept and is unresolved, it possess elements which I aim to develop further.
This piece is constructed from two main timber pieces forming the sides. These are CNC'd to a precision shape to give a perfect curve. An interior frame of timber slats joins the two sides, foam cushioning is then laid onto the slats and the piece is upholstered with fabric.
